Blog Post #2

After reading all of the poetry I must say that I am still pretty confused. Although it was nice to sit in class and go through some of them, it was a little frustrating to try to figure out what the rest of them were trying to say.

Blog Post #1

From the 11 poems that we were assigned to read I personally enjoyed the Dream Cycle. It is a short poem about a dream of a ice cream truck going by. Even though it is extremely short and blunt, I enjoyed it because I think most people reading could relate to this. Not just to an ice cream truck passing by, but to a dream of something normal that constantly occurs within everyday life, or a nostalgic memory that stays with us forever. I also enjoyed the constant breaks into new lines, making readers really take in each line instead of quickly skimming through them.

Welcome!

I'm a biology major trying to learn how to write-creatively.

I typically tend to read short stories, poetry, and African American literature. Some of my favorite authors would include: Jeanette Walls, Toni Morrison, and Frederick Douglas. I'm hoping to learn more about myself and literature through this class :)
